Time To Talk Day 2022

This week it’s Time to Talk Day – the nation’s biggest mental health conversation.

Talking and listening are things that food banks do every day in our work. Even during the pandemic when interactions have been shorter, we know how important having a chat is, especially for our mental health.

One in four of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year, but figures from mid-2020 show that, in the Trussell Trust Network, 72% of people referred to a food bank were suffering with poor mental health. Talking about mental health is important, in a food bank, it’s often a gateway to further support or a shared problem on its way to finding an answer.
