Between January and December 2025, Taff-Ely Foodbank distributed 3,685 to individuals facing hunger and hardship in the Taff-Ely area. This included 2,221 parcels for adults and 1,464 parcels for children.

45% of all of our parcels went to households with children, significantly higher than the average for food banks in Wales, and 15% of our parcels went to households with three or more children.

Compared to 2019, we have seen a 5% increase in the need for food parcels in our area, demonstrating that the Taff-Ely area has seen a consistently high level of need since the Coronavirus pandemic.

Our busiest wards were Tonyrefail East, Brynna and Llanharan, and Llantrisant and Talbot Green. Our busiest distribution centres were 3D Church, Williamstown, Trealaw Christian Centre, and St David's Church, Tonyrefail.

Almost half of the people who visited our foodbank in 2025 noted the rising cost of essentials as a reason for their needing a food parcel. This is why we have been campaigning for a social security system that guarantees the essentials, alongside Trussell and other food banks across the UK.
