Volunteers make a difference in the local community across a range of roles, including boosting donations, packing food parcels, providing a warm welcome, tackling loneliness, signposting to additional services, connecting with partners, raising awareness and leading projects.
Volunteer roles
There’s a range of ways you can volunteer at our foodbank:
Volunteer in our Warehouse or our Distribution Centres
We get a lot of interest from people wanting to volunteer to help support their local community. We want to give people the opportunity to support their local community, but there is a limit to how many people we can have volunteering within our warehouse and our centres.
We will post specific volunteer roles that are available when they come up. To volunteer at Taff Ely Foodbank:
- You will need to complete an application form and state which role you are applying for. Then we will review your application and decide whether it is right for both parties to continue.
- We will then invite you in for a chat and a tour of our warehouse and explain how we operate.
- Once we’ve heard from your two references, we will then arrange a trial day. From there, we will work out when it will be best for you to volunteer with us.
- Then your first full day will include training and induction. You will be buddied up with an experienced volunteer who will show you in detail what tasks you will be doing from day to day.
We will also post the volunteer opportunities on Connect RCT and the Royal Voluntary Service Opportunities website Flexible Volunteering Opportunities with Charities | GoVo which also have other volunteer opportunities.
