Cynnig Cymraeg

This week, Taff-Ely Foodbank was excited to hear that, after months of work, we have been awarded the Cynnig Cymraeg by the Welsh Language Commisioners Office.

As a foodbank in Wales, it is vital that anyone who needs support in our community feels comfortable visiting us, and that includes them feeling comfortable accessing support in their language of choice. Our Welsh Offer ensures Rhondda Cynon Taf's Welsh speakers can access emergency food and community advice in a way that works for them.

With two of our staff and several volunteers learning Welsh, we will be able to guarantee that anyone who contacts the foodbank via phone, email, or post in Cymraeg will receive a response in the same language, and we will ensure our social media, advice and support leaflets, and other resources will be available bilingually.
